ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Most Rev. Edward Weisenburger, Bishop of the Diocese of Tucson, is the new Episcopal Moderator for the National Association of Church Personnel Administrators (NACPA).
The announcement was made by Elizabeth Allen, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, president of the NACPA Board of Directors.
“NACPA is honored to have Bishop Weisenburger in this key leadership position,” said Ms. Allen. “We are grateful for his strong belief in justice in the workplace and his willingness to help advance the important work of our members among his fellow bishops and other Church leaders.”
Bishop Weisenburger said, “Without doubt the ministry of those with HR responsibilities is vital to our Church in these very complex times. I am grateful to these front line employees who strive to bring justice to all in our workplaces nationwide. It will be my honor to support them and help make their mission better known.”
The 7th Bishop of Tucson, Bishop Weisenburger was appointed by Pope Francis in 2017.
Previously he served as Bishop of Salina, Kansas, an appointment made by Pope Benedict XVI in 2012. The Bishop was Vicar General for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City from 1996-2012.
Ms. Allen also extended a note of thanks to the Most Rev. Gregory Aymond, Bishop of New Orleans, who has served as NACPA Episcopal Moderator since 2017.

NACPA represents Human Resource Directors, Finance Directors, Chancellors, School Administrators and other Church leaders in arch/dioceses, parishes and religious congregations nationwide and has as its mission "to promote justice in the workplace."
