This year Immaculate Heart School elected to host a Christmas Carol Sing Along in lieu of its traditional Christmas Program. With so many activities cancelled this year, IHS students, faculty, and families decided to work together to honor our wonderful school tradition of joining together to hear the story of our Savior's Birth and to sing the traditional songs of our Catholic faith on the eve of the last night before Christmas Break.
Families joined the sing-along using a school-wide virtual platform. The school community collaborated to develop a hilarious and touching script, beautifully designed slides, heart warming recordings, and live footage of all the songs the school traditionally sings as a part of its Christmas Program.
With the goal of hosting a Christ-centered and multi-aged celebration of our Blessed Savior’s birth, outstanding contributions were provided by the event’s emcees, eighth grade Student Council Officers Noah Labonte and Emiliano Castro. Memorable performances were offered by the Vibal, Coury, Del Valle, Johnson, De La Cruz, Mencke and Chavez-Poleski families. Amazing classroom teachers, Mrs. Labonte, Ms. Iannarino and Mrs. Castro-Eubanks used innovative and clever distancing and sound recording technology to offer classroom performances by the kindergarten, first and fifth grade classes currently enrolled in the hybrid learning environment offered at Immaculate Heart School. Beautiful slide design was provided by two seventh graders, Elizabeth Bruzzone and Laura Fellinger. Even the school band director Julie Patton helped out by providing solos from some of her band members.
It was a joyful night shared by a close knit community. May God be praised for the Sisters of the Immaculate heart of Mary who bring it all together for the mission of evangelization through education.
