August 10, 2021 (Nashville, TN) – Four young women professed the simple vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience as members of the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia Congregation in Nashville, Tennessee on August 10, 2021.
Among those who made their First Profession was Sister Evelyn Rose Morse, O.P., a former parishioner of St. George Roman Catholic Parish in Apache Junction in the Diocese of Tucson, Arizona.
Sister Evelyn Rose is the daughter of Brad and Elaine Morse, also parishioners at St. George. Sister is a graduate of Seton Catholic Preparatory in Chandler, Arizona. She attended Benedictine University in Mesa where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Theology. Sister is currently working towards a Master of Arts in Teaching (Elementary) at Aquinas College, Nashville, Tennessee, owned and operated by the Dominican Sisters of Saint Cecilia.

The Mass for the Rite of First Religious Profession was celebrated at the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville. The Reverend Isaac Morales, O.P., friar of the Dominican Province of St. Joseph, was the main celebrant. The homilist was Reverend Mark Chrismer of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, chaplain to the Motherhouse of St. Cecilia Congregation.
In addition to the sisters making first profession of vows, six young women professed their perpetual vows of poverty, chastity and obedience with the Nashville Dominicans on July 26, 2021.
In 1860, the Congregation of Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia was established in Nashville, where its Motherhouse is located. The Sisters of St. Cecilia are dedicated to the apostolate of Catholic education. The community of 300 sisters serves in over 40 schools throughout the United States, with mission houses also in Sydney, Australia; Vancouver, British Columbia; Rome and Bracciano, Italy; Elgin, Scotland; Sittard, The Netherlands, and Limerick, Ireland. In 2018, the community opened houses in Melbourne, Australia; and Bremerton, Washington. In 2021, the community opened another house in Traverse City, Michigan.
