In 2016 Pope Francis released Amoris Laetitia (“The Joy of Love”), his post-synodal exhortation on the theme of “love in the family.” In this three-part series, Karen Brady, MRE, MEd, will lead couples through discussions and reflections based on this groundbreaking document. The sessions will focus on 1) The Nature and Meaning of Love, 2) Contemporary Challenges to Marriage, and 3) and the Spirituality of Marriage. Remembering Pope Francis’ own reflection that growth in love “can only occur if we respond to God’s grace through constant acts of love, acts of kindness that become ever more frequent, intense, generous, tender, and cheerful” (Amoris Laetitia, no. 134), the goal of this series is to help married couples and couples considering marriage to enter more deeply into the mystery of love and how God works in and through those relationships we hold most dear.
