St. Francis Shelter Community, Tucson is hosting a presentation by Fr. Gregory Boyle, SJ, acclaimed author of "Tattoos on the Heart" and founder of Los Angeles-based Homeboy Industries, one of the largest gang intervention and rehabilitation programs in the world. In his best selling novel, Tattos on the Heart, Father Boyle reminds us that no life is less valuable than any other and illustrates that even the most seasoned gang members can be reached simply through kindness and decency. Join us as we hear Fr. Boyle share from his decades long experience with the power of boundless compassion.
The event is on March 24, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 601 E. Fort Lowell Road, Tucson.
The presentation will be followed by a question and answer period and book signing. Suggested donation is $20. Fr. Boyle is accepting no fee; all proceeds benefit St. Francis Shelter Community, "Caring for the homeless, one valued person at a time." About St Francis Shelter Community
Our vision at St. Francis Shelter Community is to follow in the footsteps of St. Francis by reaching out to our neighbors in need with compassion, respect and kindness to ease their burden, one valued person at a time. Founded in 2015, we bring homeless men together to live in community and, assisted by volunteers, we offer a variety of services to those in need in the local Tucson area.
