Bisbee's St. Patrick Parish will welcome a special guest on Sunday, October 15. Camilla Kelly, the great-grand-niece of Thomas Higgins, will be visiting in the area and will be a guest at the 9:00 a.m. Mass at St. Patrick Church. Thomas Higgins was one of Bisbee's early copper miners; he owned the land now known as Higgins Hill and donated the parcels needed for the existing St. Patrick Church to be built in 1915 - 1917.
Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Gregory Adolf, assisted by Rev. Amal Sebastiar, Rev. Joseph Saba, and Deacon Tony Underwood. Ms. Kelly will speak briefly at the end of the Mass and will be a guest at an informal reception afterward in the parish hall. The Mass and the reception are open to the public.
The photo of St. Patrick Church was taken circa 1929.
