December's "Thankful Thursday" brought the
Catholic Foundation to serve at Pio Decimo Center. Toys were donated by foundation board members as well as employees at the Diocese of Tucson Pastoral Center.
On Thursday, December 2, staff gathered together to decorate bags and to construct gifts for children in need. The Catholic Foundation staff then delivered 100 Christmas gift bags to Pio Decimo Center and learned more about their amazing mission.
Pio Decimo Center is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year! Their programs address specific needs at every stage of life, from children to teens, families to seniors.
" Pio Decimo Center helps individuals and families make lasting, positive change in their lives.
For our youngest community members, we provide childcare and early childhood education. We help children start school with confidence, ready to learn.
At our Youth Center, teens find recreational activities, skill-building classes, and mentors. These resources can help them navigate the bumpy road to adulthood without relying on gang membership or drugs.
For families, we offer practical solutions to complex problems. Our programs help to reduce poverty, prevent homelessness, and encourage home ownership.
And for seniors, we provide safe and affordable housing in active, caring communities."
