July 11, 2022Dear Colleagues, Friends, and Partners,
After more than 40 years of dedicated service to Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona, Marguerite (Peg) Harmon has notified Most Reverend Bishop Edward Weisenburger and the CCS Board of Directors that she will be retiring at the end of this year. Peg’s last day with CCS will be December 23, 2022.
Under Peg’s leadership, CCS has continued to grow and flourish, serving children, adults, families, and the community throughout Southern Arizona and in New Mexico. She has ensured that the organization exemplifies what Matthew 25:35-36 calls us to do:
In addition, Peg has gained the support of a highly engaged Board of Directors. The Board has formed a CEO search committee and will begin active recruitment in July for Peg’s replacement to continue her outstanding legacy. We are confident that God will lead us to His choice to continue the ministry of CCS."For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.”
We are really pleased that Peg plans to stay connected with our organization as we move toward the opening of our Medical Respite Center. Peg has been the driving force behind this project, and her continued involvement, even after her retirement, will help ensure the success of this critical program.
