Sunday, February 12 was the World Marriage Day, which "provided an opportunity for the Catholic Church to focus on and celebrate the vocation to marriage and family life" (USCCB).
Ninety-eight couples gathered for a special Mass with Bishop Edward Weisenburger at St. Augustine Cathedral to celebrate a combined 3,000 years of marriage. Several couples in attendance have been married more than 60 years, with the longest being 68 years of marriage. Many newlywed couples joined, to celebrate their first anniversary.
