Donal Drayne,
Active in the Diocese of Tucson,
Parishioner at St. Odilia
Named Tucson Man of the Year
Donal gives his time, treasure and talents to the Catholic Foundation and the Diocese of Tucson as well as to so many other organizations in town such as the Salvation Army, Tucson Heart Association and Tucson Medical Centers.
Donal said, “I got the news early November at a "surprise" breakfast meeting at Prep & Pastry. Believe me I was shocked at receiving this great honor. In my job at Westin La Paloma, I handled the event for around 16 years with the Tucson Metro Chamber. I thought, what a great honor to be the Man of the Year but no way could I ever get it as I presumed you had to be a Tucson "mover & shaker" or a CEO or President of a company.
I very much enjoy being involved in this great community we call Tucson and can honestly say that one person can make a difference. Two words.....get involved. It is special to be so involved with the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of Tucson. It is a very special organization with many meanings on many levels. Besides helping our "fellow man" it also allows us to get closer to our religion.”
The Tucson Man and Women of the Year Celebration takes place virtually February 19th at 6 p.m. You can watch by going to www.greatertucsonleadership.org.
