First Lady Visits San Xavier Mission

During her time in Tucson, First Lady Dr. Jill Biden visited San Xavier del Bac Mission. She also saw a traditional dance performance by Tohono O’odham members.

Principal Vanessa Rothstein said, "Dr. Biden made an unscheduled stop (much to the Secret Service’s chagrin) to greet the middle school students of San Xavier Mission School as she was leaving the Mission. They thanked her for being in their community with a sign and as she greeted them. She made a point of shaking each student’s hand and speaking to each student. It was quite a thrill for our faculty, staff, and students!"
