Bishop Edward Weisenburger began the morning at Mass, followed by the 4-mile March to Holy Hope Cemetery. Led by the Knights of Columbus, Catholic young adults took up the banner this year. Participants of all ages prayed the Rosary, sang hymns, and carried signs of hope and support for women and children.
At Holy Hope Cemetery, March for Life organizer Kelly Copeland addressed the gathered crowd. The traditional Rose Ceremony featured one person born each year since Roe v. Wade in 1973, carrying a red rose on behalf of the millions of classmates, friends, and family who were killed each year by abortion. Finally, the 2023 white rose of hope was carried by a pregnant woman for the child forming in her womb who will be born this year.
