Sister Mary Senglaub ( 1932—2021) (formerly Sister Stephen Marie), age 89, was called to enter the fullness of everlasting life Monday morning, November 15, 2021. Her death was unexpected but peaceful. Sister Ruth Mary Costello and the nurses were with her. We don’t think her death is COVID related.
Sister Mary’s funeral services will be live-streamed from St. Francis Convent on Thursday, November 18:
8:40 a.m. CT Time of Remembering
9:00 a.m. CT Funeral Mass
~ Presider: Rev. Jim Schroeder, SCJ
Following the Mass, the Administrative Team will meet Sister Mary’s body at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery for the burial.
Sister Mary was a quiet, generous and prayerful presence in the Diocese of Tucson from 2003—2019 as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector at Sacred Heart Parish. As a gifted musician, she was an active member in one of the Southern Arizona Choruses. For many years she served on the Council for Vowed Religious and was among the founding members of the Nuns Club where sisters who live alone for the sake of their ministry gathered in companionship.
We are grateful for the opportunity to share part of her life here in Arizona. We pray for the peaceful repose of Sr. Mary Senglaub, OSF, for her family and friends and for her community. (Sr. Diana Tregerson [email protected] )
