Jan. 21 -- Third Sunday in Ordinary Time (Mk 1:14-20)
The call of the Apostles today is a little different than we heard last week, because each comes from a different Gospel author, written about 30 to 40 years apart. Each talks about God’s call; the specific details were not that important to the Gospel writers. Here, in the Gospel of Mark, Jesus invites his first Apostles to help him spread the Good News about God’s kingdom. Andrew, Simon, James and John leave their fishing nets and follow Jesus.
