Jesus loves to tell stories. In today’s story (parable), five not-so-wise bridesmaids go to meet the bridegroom (Christ) without bringing extra oil for their lamps. When the bridegroom arrives at midnight, they need to run off to purchase more oil, returning too late to be on time for the celebration.
