The school and community you surround yourself with during your formative years has a greater impact on a person than most experiences; meaning your school years are of great importance. While many schools can shove paper at you and entertain you with sports, only a community like St. Augustine can foster such a sense of family.
The mutual cooperation between the students’ parents and the staff of the school is a prime example of the care and attention families at St. Augustine receive. Whatever problems may occur, the school’s admin has always been supportive. The hiccups that occurred have only ever been minor, thanks to the teachers’ care of their students.
When it comes to teacher-family dynamics, they matter just as much, if not more than a student’s friends. A parent will always know their own child best, but a teacher will still play a substantial role in a child’s life. At St. Augustine, the teachers and staff strive to create the best environment for the students. While incorporating Christian values, they also build up the student’s family by supporting and saluting the parents’ efforts.
St. Augustine does not only support its families and students, it also prepares us to venture into our community and share the gifts we are provided as students. St. Augustine supports the community by helping fellow teens through StandUp for Kids. Through involvement with this organization, students from St. Augustine have had the opportunity to help 383 at-risk homeless kids at StandUp for Kids this year alone. Teachers and staff foster this sense of community and care by building their students up to carry on that support to those less fortunate.
