The National Eucharistic Congress was an event unlike any other faith encounter I have experienced. I believe this just might be the “new springtime” St. John Paul II spoke about.
There is so, so much that can be said about the Congress, but here are my personal top 10 takeaways:
Don't ever lose sight of the most important love; Jesus loves you more than you can ever fathom.
Our problem is we have lost our first love, and we don't seem to care. The road back to his love is repentance.
The ultimate source of all Christian unity rests in the Eucharist.
Through the Cross, we can love and forgive. In the Eucharist, we fulfill this unity of love.
The Eucharist is the ultimate encounter with God's love. But as essential as it is, it's not the end in itself. We are meant to move confidently from this summit of God's love, to bring that love to our families, friends, and a world desperate for it.
I don't judge you. If I judge you in any way, I judge you worthy of Jesus wanting to come and rescue you.
Spiritual healing will only come from an encounter. The Eucharist is the encounter with healing and mercy. Without the desire of the Eucharist, we will fall woefully short of the encounter Jesus desires for us.
Your story and mine are being written. These stories are meant to be love stories. First and foremost, we need God's love. From this love we can love more like Him.
The ministry that is not nailed to the Cross will blow away.
What if you have gotten weary because you got the mission wrong?
