It was like Christmas at Sister José Women's Center. About one hundred bags of warm clothes, blankets, and canned foods were delivered to them thanks to The Catholic Foundation.

Founder and Director of
Sister José Women's Center, Jean Fedigan says, "Our women do die of cold and starvation on the streets. To leave here with these items will save their lives."
From blankets to jackets and canned dinners, the staff at the Diocese of Tucson Pastoral Center were put to work. Every first Thursday of the month, The Catholic Foundation organizes a Thankful Thursday event where the staff at the Pastoral Center gather for an activity that would benefit a community organization. For November's Thankful Thursday, The Catholic Foundation chose to donate to Sister José Women's Center.
The staff was encouraged to donate jackets, blankets, and anything else that would help Sister José Women's Center. Together they all filled up bags of canned foods, and warm clothing bags to prepare them for the winter.
Sister José Women's Center helps women who are experiencing homelessness by offering services such as food, shelter, medical assistance, and more. For more information visit:
